Flipping houses gets a bad reputation, but I’ve seen plenty of flips that were done well.
The problem comes in when the person flipping the home doesn’t know how to budget properly and ends up having to cut corners. One way to spot this is to look at details, like finishes. Do things seem a bit off? Maybe a bedroom door looks uneven or the kitchen cabinets don’t line up in places.
A house with these cosmetic issues could be fine, but it could be a sign that whoever did the flip was rushed or tried to save money by doing shoddy work. That’s why I always emphasize the importance of a home inspection. A reputable inspector can catch issues going on under the home and behind the walls that you can’t see.
